If you're new to CodeTeach.app, start here. CodeTeach turns an assignment idea or instructor-provided code into starter code, a working solution, observed-behavior tests, and student instructions. You review the package before CodeTeach builds and validates a GitHub autograder.
What you'll do
Seed: Choose New Assignment and provide a description, starter code, a solution, both, or a source document.
Review & Edit: Review the generated artifacts, make any edits, approve the instructions, and run Tier 1 quality validation in the language sandbox.
Deploy: CodeTeach builds and validates the GitHub autograder in Tier 2, pushes a private template repository, and checks the real GitHub Actions run.
You can also download the validated assignment package as a ZIP.
What you need
A GitHub account or organization where you can create private repositories. A personal account works for the direct template flow; a course organization can make managing many students easier.
The CodeTeach GitHub App installed on that account or organization. CodeTeach uses it to create the assignment repo and push the validated files. GitHub Classroom is optional; use it if it fits your course workflow.
Where to go next
Set up GitHub for CodeTeach to connect your account or organization.
Pick a generation mode based on the materials you already have.
Open any existing assignment from the dashboard to continue at its current stage.
After deployment, create a private test repo from the template with Include all branches off, then push a sample solution to test the student path.
Difficulty matters
Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced change how much scaffolding students receive. Choose the level before generation and review the student instructions before approving them. Compare the difficulty levels.
