Approving instructions — the approval gate

Review and approve the current student instructions and assignment package before quality validation can run.

The Instructions tab includes an approval gate. Read the current starter, solution, tests, and Instructions.md, then choose Approve instructions to unlock quality validation.

What to inspect

  • Does the assignment teach the learning objectives and use the intended language and difficulty?

  • Are examples, expected outputs, filenames, and commands consistent with the working solution and tests?

  • Does the starter leave meaningful work for students without exposing the answer?

  • Are grading criteria and allowed dependencies clear?

Beginner instructions may intentionally include a complete validated worked program. Intermediate guidance should avoid giving away the implementation. Advanced instructions should focus on requirements and interfaces. Review what students will actually see.

Approval applies to the current package. If you edit a graded artifact or accept an AI Wizard proposal, inspect the updated package and approve it again before rerunning quality validation. CodeTeach does not silently approve instructor-owned content.

Compare difficulty levels and review the four artifacts.
