From Document mode — convert a lab handout into an assignment

Start with a lab handout or written prompt. CodeTeach drafts the package; review every artifact and validate observed solution behavior.

Choose From Document when you have a lab handout, a course prompt, or a clear written idea but no starter code. CodeTeach drafts starter code, a working solution, tests, and student instructions from that text.

Write a precise prompt

Paste or upload the lab document in the wizard. State the selected language, the inputs and outputs, at least one example, constraints such as permitted libraries, and what students must implement themselves. If the task uses files or command-line arguments, spell out their names and format. Only upload material you have permission to use.

Review every artifact

This mode gives CodeTeach the most freedom, so inspect the generated Starter, Solution, Tests, and Instructions on Review & Edit. Confirm the assignment actually teaches the intended outcome. Tests must use output observed from the generated solution; review those expectations and revise the package if the solution is wrong or the prompt was ambiguous.

Approve the instructions, run validation, then continue to Deploy only after the package passes. Compare generation approaches or read the review guide.
